The Honoring Mother’s Reception is a highlight of the Annual Women’s Symposium.  World Academy members are asked to invite their mothers to the Symposium so they know what their daughters and sons are learning about the world they will be entering after they graduate from the university and enter society.

This special evening is designed for World Academy members to introduce their mothers and to acknowledge the encouragement and support their mothers have provided them to continue their education.  They share the special relationship they have shared with their mothers and their gratitude for the opportunities they were given to improve their lives and have greater opportunities for gender equality, social justice and to see a bigger world.  Most often the mother have not been on Sias campus and other family members accompany them for this special occasion.

This evening is a celebration that is filled with appreciation, gratitude and emotion.
